Sunderland skipper Zenden enjoyed seeing his Barcelona thrash Real Madrid - Tribalfootball.com

Sunderland's former Barcelona star Bolo Zenden admits he enjoyed the El Clasico.

Zenden, who made 73 appearances for the Catalan club between 1998 and 2001, was impressed with the 5-0 hammering doled out by a Barca side including former team-mates Xavi and Carles Puyol.

"It was a real Clasico," he told safc.com. "They are always fantastic games to watch, and although Barca are capable of results like that I don't think anyone would have expected it.

"Even [Barcelona coach] Guardiola said before the game that he couldn't predict the score but it wouldn't be 5-0. But it ended up like that and they kept possession so well. You could count the amount of times they gave the ball away on one hand.

"It was a great match to watch as a fan of football itself and it was a pleasure for me as an ex-Barca player not only because of the result, but because of how they play the game."
