Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain Wants To Avoid Surgery - Goal.com India

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has confessed to Marca that he doesn't want to undergo an operation that could potentially see him ruled out for two months.

The Argentina ace missed los Blancos' Clasico drubbing by Barcelona last week because of a back injury, and the same problem will also prevent him for featuring for los Merengues when they face Valencia at the Bernabeu on Saturday evening. However, the goal-getter wants to avoid going under the knife it at all possible.

"[I will] try to make the best decision soon," he explained to the daily publication. "It's difficult."

The club's medical staff reportedly feel that Higuain should go under the knife as soon as possible because it would minimise the damage to the player and the side's campaign. Indeed, even coach Jose Mourinho wants a resolution to the issue swiftly, and Higuain's reported desire to go back to Argentina to clear the problem will not sit well with the Portuguese.

Enrich Caceres is the surgeon set to operate on the striker, and he is said to be the best back specialist in Spain, having recently dealt with Villarreal's Santi Cazorla. In the past he has also served Thierry Henry and Yaya Toure, amongst others.
